GentleCure NON-INVASIVE SKIN CANCER RADIATION TREATMENT

GentleCure is a skin cancer treatment done right in our dermatology office. A specially trained RTT uses the Image-Guided Superficial Radiation Therapy (SRT) machine to deliver low levels of X-ray energy, like what you get at the dentist’s office, to kill cancer cells.

GentleCure is the only skin cancer treatment that uses ultrasound images so you can see your skin cancer shrink at each visit until it is cured. These images help your RTT and dermatologist tailer each treatment to work exactly for your cancer.

PSORIASIS

Psoriasis is one of the most common immune-mediated skin conditions. Importantly, psoriasis can have serious health impacts way beyond the skin. It often negatively impacts physical and emotional well-being, causing major effects on quality of life. Additionally, moderate-to-severe psoriasis is related to an increased risk of serious health conditions including, cardiovascular disease, heart attack, and stroke. Therefore, psoriasis is not a cosmetic problem. It must be treated appropriately in order to reduce the overall disease burden. Here at Frieder Dermatology, we treat even the most complicated cases of psoriasis. With an extensive background in psoriasis clinical research and treatment, Dr. Jillian Frieder manages her patients with the most up-to-date therapeutic options. We want patients to feel confident that they do not need to live with their psoriasis and can have a return of their quality of life.

SKIN CANCER TREATMENT

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the
United States. Skin cancer is when healthy cells in the skin
change and grow into a mass called a tumor. Basal cell and
squamous cell carcinomas are the most common types of
skin cancer, and they are often easily treatable.

There are surgical and nonsurgical ways to treat skin
cancer. If diagnosed with skin cancer, it is best to
understand all the advanced treatments available so
you can work with your doctor to decide which one
meets your clinical needs and personal goals.

While Mohs surgery continues to be the recommended
first-line curative treatment option for non-melanoma skin
cancers, some patients may not be surgical candidates.
Other patients may want to avoid the potential for cutting,
bleeding, scarring and disfigurement, lengthy recovery
times, and expensive reconstructive surgery that can
accompany Mohs surgery.

NEW – As mentioned above, we are now pleased to offer GentleCure™, a Non-Inasive Skin Cancer Treatment.

IMAGE-GUIDED SUPERFICIAL RADIATION THERAPY(IG-SRT)

Image-Guided Superficial Radiation Therapy (IG-SRT) is a nonsurgical treatment that uses low amounts of X-rays to kill cancer cells so normal tissue can grow back in its place. It is the only treatment with ultrasound imaging, so you and your doctor can watch the tumor go away slowly.

Image-Guided SRT is a potential treatment option for patients who:

  •  Fear surgery and would prefer a non-invasive treatment (no cutting, bleeding, or pain)
  • Are not surgical candidates due to advancing age, concomitant drug therapy (blood thinners), preexisting medical conditions (diabetes, stasis dermatitis, chronic edema), and circulatory compromise
  • Seek favorable cosmesis and want to avoid potential for scarring and disfigurement, lengthy recovery times, and expensive reconstructive surgery that accompanies 1 in 3 patients after Mohs Surgery
